Why you can trust it

Most AI email tools store your inbox on their servers. MiniBrief stores none of it.

Trust here is structural, not a badge we bought. It comes from how the product is built. By default we send only a subject line and a preview of about 120 characters. Full message text is sent only for features you turn on yourself, and only for the message you opened.

What it does

The work it does, every day.

Not a list of features — the work MiniBrief takes off your plate the moment you open your inbox.

Triage

We read every thread for you.

MiniBrief scans the full thread the moment you open it. However long the back-and-forth, you get the key points, who needs what, and the next action.

  • TLDR, action items, and sentiment for any thread length
  • Reads up to 4,000 characters per email for accuracy
  • Cached per email — second open is instant, zero token cost
Thread: Q4 planning — next steps
Maya → Team · 3 days ago
Hi all — can we align on Q4 priorities? I'm thinking we should focus on growth, but want everyone's input before the board meeting on Friday...
James → Maya · 2 days ago
Agree on growth but we need to ship the API first. Without that, enterprise deals fall through. Can we make that the top priority?
Priya → All · Yesterday
+1 on the API. Also — we still haven't resolved the pricing page issue from last sprint. Should block the board deck until we agree...
Voice

We draft replies in your voice.

MiniBrief studies your sent folder to learn your voice, including greetings, sign-offs, and formality, then generates replies that read like you wrote them.

  • Learns from up to 100 of your real sent emails
  • Reply by intent — approve, decline, follow up, schedule, and more
  • Three tone modes (voice, brief, warm) plus a tone check that flags and fixes harsh lines

Hi Sarah — Friday at 9:00 AM works on my calendar. I've blocked the slot and added the call link. Speak then.
Relationships

We keep your client relationships warm.

MiniBrief builds a profile for every client — status, cadence, history — and quietly watches the threads. When someone important goes quiet, you hear about it before the relationship cools.

  • Client profiles: status, cadence, notes, and next check-in
  • Triage and meeting prep that know who's a client
  • Relationship-health alerts when a client goes quiet

Unsubscribe

We make unsubscribe permanent.

One click does two things. It fires the RFC 8058 unsubscribe and writes a permanent filter, so if the sender rotates subdomains the next email is still trashed automatically.

  • RFC 8058 one-click + mailto fallback
  • Persistent Gmail server-side filter (not a label rule)
  • Survives newsletter subdomain rotation

More in the toolkit

And it keeps earning its keep.

Beyond triage, drafting, and unsubscribe, MiniBrief quietly handles the rest of the inbox grind.

Catch-up reports

Back after time away? One ranked digest of what actually happened, instead of a wall of unread rows.

VIP alerts and escalation

Flag the people who matter. If a VIP thread goes quiet past the window you set, MiniBrief raises it to critical.

Smart classification

Every email is sorted by importance and type the moment it lands, so noise stays out of the way of what needs you.

Meeting prep

Before a call, MiniBrief pulls the thread history into a tight brief so you walk in already up to speed.

Snooze with reliable wake

Archive a thread now and return it to the inbox in minutes or hours. Wake timers survive browser restarts, so nothing is lost.

Tone check before send

Scores a draft for professionalism and flags aggressive, passive-aggressive, or unclear lines before you send it.

Commitments tracking

MiniBrief pulls promises and deadlines out of your threads — what you owe and what's owed to you — and flags them before they slip.

ROI you can see

Time saved, response times, top senders, and where your inbox hours actually go — the proof MiniBrief is earning its keep.

Delegation and team

Hand a thread or a full catch-up report to your EA or chief of staff. Role-based delegates keep the right people in the loop.

How it works

Four steps to a managed inbox.

MiniBrief reads and sorts your mail in your browser. Your account keeps settings and VIPs in sync, and your email content is never stored.

Install and sign in

Add the extension to Chrome or Firefox and create your MiniBrief account. Setup takes about a minute.

Open Gmail or Outlook

The panel appears next to your inbox, and triage begins as soon as your mail loads.

Read the brief

Catch-up reports, voice-matched drafts, and one-click unsubscribe, all without leaving your inbox. No AI key to bring.

Set your VIPs

Flag the people who matter. MiniBrief monitors those threads and escalates to critical if they stay silent past your window.

Private by design

Your email never leaves your browser.

Most AI inbox tools upload your mail to their servers. Watch where yours actually goes.

You open your inbox.

Gmail or Outlook — right where you already work.

It all happens right here.

Your email is read inside your browser, on your device.

Our servers never see it.

Your email content is blocked from our servers — only your settings ever sync.

Private by construction.

Not a policy you have to trust — it's how MiniBrief is built.

Why we built it

A note from the founder.

I built MiniBrief because my inbox was beating me.

Hundreds of unread emails, no structure, no idea what actually needed a reply. Newsletters, promos, and junk piling up until the one email that mattered was buried three pages down, and some days I’d miss it completely. Threads twenty messages deep that I had to read top to bottom just to find the one question hiding inside. Every time I needed something, I was searching, scrolling, and hoping.

I didn’t want a prettier inbox. I wanted my day back.

So I built the thing I needed. MiniBrief reads your inbox, clears the newsletters and noise away from what actually matters, pulls the answer out of long chains, and drafts the reply in your own voice, right inside Gmail and Outlook.

What used to eat your morning now takes minutes. Nothing important slips through, and you get a whole lot more of your day back.

FAQ

Questions, answered straight.

The things people ask before they trust an extension with their inbox.

Do I need a MiniBrief account?
Yes. Creating an account takes about a minute and lets MiniBrief sync your settings and VIPs across devices and manage your plan. The account never stores the contents of your emails.
Do you store or read my email?
No. Your mail is parsed and pre-sorted in your browser, and we store none of it. AI features send a limited amount through our proxy to Anthropic: by default a subject line and a preview of about 120 characters, and full message text only for features you turn on yourself. The proxy forwards each request without logging or keeping its contents, nothing is written to our database, and MiniBrief contains no analytics, telemetry, or behavioral tracking.
Which inboxes does it support?
Gmail and Outlook, both available now. MiniBrief runs alongside your existing webmail, so there is no separate app to open. Work or school Outlook accounts usually need a one-time approval from a Microsoft 365 admin before anyone in the organisation can connect.
Do I need to bring my own AI key?
No, and there is no option to. MiniBrief works with a built-in model from the moment you sign in. There is no key to manage, no separate AI bill, and no API key stored in your browser for anyone to extract.
Does the AI train on my email?
Email content is sent only to Anthropic to generate the response you asked for. Per Anthropic’s API terms, inputs sent through the API are not used to train its models. You can review Anthropic’s privacy policy for details.
When does it launch, and what will it cost?
MiniBrief is launching soon for Chrome and Firefox. Pricing will be announced before launch — join the waitlist and you'll be the first to hear, with no other emails in between.
